| The Island's prairies and estuaries abound with fish, crustaceans, birds and several species of reptiles and mammals. There are 20 endangered/threatened species on the Island. Supporting U. S. Fish and Wildlife's efforts to maintain the wildlife is of major importance to Matagorda Island Foundation. |
