The Foundation, a non-profit organization, is dedicated to the public enjoyment and preservation of history, environment, and wildlife of Matagorda Island and its adjacent waters. The purpose is to focus on preserving this major "national resource" and to provide a pivotal point between the public and the various government organizations that manage the Island's resources.
